The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced that they have extended their partnership with their ECHL affiliate, the Orlando Solar Bears, for the next two seasons.

This partnership between Tampa and Orlando began during the 2018-19 season, and the Lightning have seen 22 of their prospects rise from the 'AA' Solar Bears to the 'AAA' Syracuse Crunch during that time. Notable players during the Lightning/Solar Bears partnership include Jimmy Huntington, Otto Somppi, and Connor Ingram

As part of their partnership, the Lightning will play their October 5 preseason game against the Florida Panthers at the AdventHealth Rink at Amway Center, the fourth preseason game that Tampa has hosted in the Amway Center, and eighth appearance in Orlando overall. The Lightning's last appearance at the Amway Center came during the 2018-19 preseason, a 6-2 win over the Florida Panthers on September 27, 2018

Orlando has posted a 104-82-16-3 record since their affiliation change, making the playoffs once in three years.
