A big bounce-back win for the Lightning, as they win 5-2 over the St. Louis Blues. Here are three things we noticed from the game.
Another Hot Start
Just like Monday against Boston, the Lightning dominated the first period once again. Brayden Point and Alex Killorn got the Lightning off to a 3-0 start in the first eight minutes of play, as the Lightning controlled the majority of play.
First Line Buzzes
After a quiet few games, the first line was once again phenomenal. Brayden Point, Branden Hagel, and Nikita Kucherov combined for eight points in the win over the Blues, Hagel's goal proved to be a pivotal moment in the game, as St. Louis had made it a one-goal game just 18 seconds earlier.
With the game being broadcasted on TNT, the intermission panel raved about the play of Kucherov. Former Lightning coach Rick Tocchet said Kucherov climbs his list of the best players in the league every time he watches him.
Big Cat Strong
As the second period rolled along, the Lightning relied heavily on the play of Andrei Vasilevskiy. The Big Cat had to make some big saves in the middle frame, starting with a breakaway save on Brayden Schenn with the left leg pad. After the second goal, Vasilevskiy turned into a wall, stopping each St. Louis shot with relative ease.
Vasilevskiy's numbers haven't been as impressive as in years past, and he struggled against the Bruins. But he seems to be on the right path following this game and his game against the Calgary Flames.

3. Paul (TBL): 1 Goal, 1 Assist
