The Lightning have signed defenseman Darren Raddysh to a two-year contract extension worth $1.95 million overall, at an average annual value of $975K per season. Hagel is currently in the last year of a two-year, $1.525 million deal ($762,500 AAV)
Raddysh was in the middle of his second season in AHL Syracuse when he was called up from the Crunch in March, and would end up finishing tied for third in scoring among AHL defensemen with 51 points in 50 games, as well as winning the AHL's hardest shot competition during the All-Star weekend.
Raddysh played in 17 games for the Lightning during the 2022-23 season. He scored his first career goal against the New York Rangers, and added two assists, while averaging 16:29 of ice time per game. With all 17 games coming after the trade deadline, Raddysh was seen as the Lightning's late-season addition to a bright side of the defense that has struggled with most injuries and inconsistent play throughout 2022-23. Raddysh would add a goal and an assist for two points in six playoff games, averaging 25:13 of ice time due to the injury of Erik Cernak in game one.
Raddysh was originally signed during the summer of 2021 as a veteran defenseman for Syracuse. He would play in four games for the Lightning in 2021-22, creating the first pair of brothers to play on the same team in Lightning history alongside his brother Taylor. The elder Raddysh would go scoreless in those four games.
With the signing of Raddysh, the Lightning currently have $75.915 million locked up in their 2024-25 roster, which consists of 17 players.
