Lightning Crash and Burn vs Bruins

The Lightning faced off against the Boston Bruins, looking to play a more well-rounded game after their win against the Sabres. Here are a few things we noticed from the Lightning's 4-0 loss to the Bruins.

Slopy Offense

There was not much to like in this game for the Lightning, especially when it came to the offense. The Lightning only had 26 shots on goal in this game, most of which came late in the third. A big issue for the Lightning's lackluster shots came from missed of extra passes, missed passes, bad entries, and the list goes on. Too often, the Lightning passed up on opportunities, and even when they did shoot, they often went wide.

The Lightning have been a very good offensive team this year, but tonight was not their night. The team has not looked like themselves over the last few days, and this is one of their worst performances.

Burn the Tapes and Move On

The Good news for the Lightning is it's only one game, and the Lightning sit in a comfortable playoff spot. This game happens to everyone, and the Lightning need to recognize that and move on. Burn the tapes, as the saying goes.

Despite the bad game, this is not a red flag yet for the Lightning. If these issues continue, then it will become more of a concern, but for now, move on and look to have a big bounce back game next time out.

Next, the Lightning will take on the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday, March 11th. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST at the Lenovo Center.
